Charlie Cox made his big comeback as Matt Murdock Spider-Man: There is no way to go home and then debuted as Daredevil in episode 8 of She-Hulk: lawyer! It’s great to see him racing in the MCU again and he will also appear in Marvel’s Echo series before his highly anticipated solo series Daredevil: Born again.
It turns out that when Marvel actually contacted Charlie Cox to reprise his role as Daredevil, he thought it was a joke. Speaking with CinePop, he said:
“I thought it was a joke. I thought it was a joke. Then I thought maybe – I had a message on my machine saying, ‘Assistant to Kevin Feige, can you call us back?’ And then I thought maybe it was a charity event for Covid and they’re bringing everyone in. And then I called the phone and said, ‘Do you want to be in Spider-Man?’ They’re just crazy. I’m in the garden at my house and my wife is sitting on the steps and looking at me like, “What’s going on?” He was crazy, he’s just crazy. It’s a childhood dream, it was incredible. “
And that was the beginning of Daredevil’s future in the MCU! I recently reviewed the original Daredevil series and that show was pretty damn tough! It’s so cool, and I hope as you move on with the character, Marvel embraces that dark, gritty nastiness.
