McKenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Beyond, The Handmaid’s Tale) joined the cast of a drama film titled Spider and Jessiein which he will act opposite Jojo Regina (Where the Crawdads sing) And Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy), as well as Dacre Montgomery (Stranger things), Forrest good luck (Cherry), Fernanda Andrade (Knight of the Moon), And Malia Baker (The babysitter club).
Grace plays Spider and Regina as her sister, Jessie. Grace and Williams will also serve as executive producers.
“The film follows two disorganized sisters who, after discovering their mother has been fatally overdosed, are terrified of being separated by an overloaded foster care system. As such, they hide the body. However, the local police chief, mom’s drug consultant and her unstable ex-boyfriend are getting closer to uncovering the truth and the girls must decide how far they are willing to go to keep their secret buried. “
Dan Kay directs and writes the screenplay, with which he developed Julia Keller.
Grace said of the project:
“I am so grateful to be a part of this important story about addiction and how it affects not only the addict but those around them. I was aware of how widespread drug use and addiction was, but in making this film I gained a deeper understanding of just how big the problem is. Many members of our cast and crew have shared their experiences and it’s heartbreaking. Doing this is more than making a film, it is creating and being part of something that is bigger than ourselves. “
It seems like a heartbreaking story. The cast is great, so it looks like a movie I’ll want to see. There is no release date yet, but we will keep you updated.
