McKenna Grace has officially confirmed that she will reprise the role of Phoebe in the next Sony Pictures film Ghostbusters: Beyond Continuation, Fire station. I thought she would be back with some of the other cast members, but it’s always nice to have a confirmation.
During a recent interview with CB, Grace shared her excitement about the sequel and how she’s trying to get information from the director. Jason Reitman where the sequel’s story is headed. She said:
“I’m constantly putting pressure on Jason Reitman, our director. I always try to understand what the story is. I literally have no idea what the story is. If I knew about a Marvel movie or if I knew about Ghostbusters, I’d be sitting here and I’d say, “I have no idea, and it’s driving me crazy.” I’m just excited to do a second. I’m just thrilled to be Phoebe.
The film was previously described as “the next chapter in the history of the Spengler family” and will once again be directed by Jason Reitman from a script he is writing with. Gil Kenan.
The film will officially return to New York City and is also expected to take place at the Firehouse headquarters which was featured in the first two. ghost Buster movie. Reitman also previously revealed some additional information about the sequel and the future of the franchise, saying this Erni HudsonWinston Zeddemore will play a major role in the franchise from now on. He said:
“The character of Winston Zeddemore and Zeddemore Industries figures strongly in the future of Ghostbusters.”
As for the involvement of the original other ghost Buster characters, which is yet to be seen. The film is currently expected to hit theaters on December 20, 2023.
