
The master of horror, Stephen Kingis at the center of a new upcoming documentary titled Stephen King: A necessary evil. The documentary, which comes out today on MagellanTV, features loads of rare archival footage and interviews with King as he talks about the horror genre and a variety of other things.
Below we have a preview clip for you to watch that teases some of the interviews that will be included in the document, including a discussion of the horror genre and why fans love it.
The film details “the historical career and cultural impact of legendary horror novelist Stephen King. Through extensive and rare archival footage, including King’s past interviews, guest lectures and book readings, and framed by scenes from the myriad of film adaptations of King’s novels, Stephen King: A necessary evil chronicles the life of the famous author from his modest upbringing in Maine to his meteoric rise in popular literature. The film also highlights King’s little-known insights, including his perspectives on mainstream versus “serious” literature and evaluations of his book-to-screen adaptations over the years. “
Stephen King: A necessary evil is directed by Julien Dupuy and produced by Art France. The document will be previewed exclusively on MagellanTV today, Thursday, October 6, and Magellan will make the film available to everyone (including non-subscribers) until Halloween.
After October 31, only Magellan subscribers will be able to access it, so if you’re a fan of King, watch it while you can!
