The anime a piece is one of the most loved series by fans of Japanese animation, of which Netflix is now producing a new live action series. Although at first it generated some controversy, after the first images of his production, some fans defend the work of Netflix.
Being a series that has been on the air continuously since 1999, based on the manga of the same name by Eichiro Oda from 1997, and which already exceeds 1000 episodes, it is logical that it is part of the love of anime fans. So here we tell you all you need to know on this new Netflix series.
The One Piece live action has already finished its recording
The One Piece anime has garnered fans for nearly two decades. Either for the design of its characters or for its funny story, about a group of pirates who go in search of a legendary treasure known as One Piece. The series is gaining more and more followers and now Netflix has taken on the task of adapting it to live action.
The news of a new live action adaptation of One Piece was released in 2017 on the anniversary of the manga and a split of opinion quickly occurred among fans of the series, between those who were in favor of its realization and who was in favor. they were totally against it happening.
After three years, in 2020, thanks to the official social accounts of the Netflix streaming platform and an official account created for the One Piece live action, we were able to learn about the first news of the series, such as the production studio, who would direct it, chosen and confirmed the chapters.
The series is overseen by One Piece’s author himself, who also participates in executive production with Shueisha. On the other hand, it has at least been confirmed 10 chapters of Tomorrow Studios. All this under the guidance of Steven Maeda, who has worked on overseeing series such as CSI: Miami or Lost.
On November 9, 2021, the main actors of the cast were announced, among which we find Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu Maeda, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson and Taz Skylar in the lead roles. As for the script, it was written by Matt Owens and according to Murphy’s Multiverse magazine confirmed that Marc Jobts will direct at least the first episode of the series.
On the other hand, there is no release date yet, but Netflix does confirmed the end of filming and shown a video where you can see the different places of the series. Likewise, series lead Nicole Hirsch Whitaker commented that it won’t be an exact copy of the anime, so the live action will have some differences from the original story.
