During the AMC Networks Summit in New York, the showrunner Scott M. Gimple teased that this “epic love story” reuniting Rick and Michonne takes place in a place never before seen in The walking dead Universe. “The discovery of new individual worlds is critical,” Gimple said, adding that Rick “discovered a new world” when he awoke from a coma in the pilot episode of.
