RLJE Films and Shudder have released a trailer for an upcoming sci-fi horror action thriller titled Slash / Back, which sees a group of messy teenage girls fighting an alien invasion. It looks like this movie is going to be a fun and funny movie! I dig what I see in the trailer! The film is like a mix of The thing And Attach the block.
The film is set in Pangnirtung, Nunavut, “a sleepy village nestled in the majestic mountains of Baffin Island in the Arctic Ocean, director Nyla Innuksuk’s Slash / Back opens as the village wakes up on a typical summer day. No school, no cool guys (well … except one) and 24/7 sunlight. But for Maika and her messy friends, the usual summer is suddenly not on the cards when they discover an alien invasion threatening her. their hometown. These teens have been underestimated all their lives but, using makeshift weapons and their knowledge of horror movies, they show the aliens that you can’t get along with the girls of Pang.
The movie stars Tasiana Shirley, Alexis Vincent-Wolfe, Nalajoss EllsworthAnd Chelsea Prusky. It was directed by Nyla Innutsuka from a script with which he wrote together Ryan Cavan. Innuksuka is making her feature film directing and screenwriting debut with the film.
The director said, “The Slash / Back title sequence is special to me because there is something very familiar about seeing kids biking in their hometown in the movies, but this isn’t Goon Docks or Southern California. . This is Nunavut, one of the most remote and beautiful places on the planet. I think it’s important to be able to see yourself in different kinds of stories, and this is primarily an Inuit movie. “
Slash / Back will be released in selected American theaters and on VOD starting October 21, 2022.
