A recurring conversation over the past few weeks on “Twitter movie” is whether audiences are really interested in returning to Pandora next December when “Avatar: The Sense of Water,” the first of four “Avatar” sequels to be released by James Cameron, in cinemas. On September 30, Disney re-released the first installment so that whoever wanted could refresh Jake Sully’s (Sam Worthington) first adventure as it was conceived: on the big screen and in 3D. And everything indicates that yes, there was a desire to return.

As reported by Comscore, ‘Avatar’ returns to being number 1 at the Spanish box office 13 years later. The revival also managed to impose itself on other news from the bill like ‘Smile’ or ‘The Wild Girl’ in the charts on Friday 30. The horror film by Na’vi and Paramount have ousted ‘Tadeo Jones 3: The Emerald Tablet’, great winner of the month of September in Spanish cinemas. But we will not know the collection figures until next week. Will he stand on the podium on Saturday and Sunday?

“Avatar” raised a whopping 74.56 million euros in Spain, an absolutely overwhelming figure that has never been seen again (“Eight Basque surnames” is the second highest-grossing film in history with € 55.38 million). In 2010, a year after the original premiere, Cameron launched an extended version that added another 2.47 million euros to the total of the film in our country.
Worldwide still holds the title of highest-grossing film in history (without adjusting to ticket price inflation) with $ 2.88 billion (almost 3 billion euros), and this figure will only grow in the coming weeks with this recovery. The film was already number 1 at the world box office a few days ago.
