Epcot Mascot Purple Dinosaur FIGMENT gets its Disney movie from Seth Rogen, Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit

A new Disney movie is in the works with the character Figment, a small purple dragon who serves as the mascot of Epcot’s Imagination Pavilion in Orlando. The function comes from Seth Rogen’s Point Gray with The Pokémon Detective Pikachu‘S Dan Hernandez And Benji Samit set to write.

Figment was created by Walt Disney Imagineers Tony Baxter and Steve Kirk, among other collaborators, in 1983, the same year he debuted in the Epcot Journey Into Imagination run. Fiction is the embodiment of the imagination process, a figment of your imagination. Although he is one of Disney’s darkest characters, Figment has a devoted fan base who made sure his role in the park was never diminished. Various attempts to remove the carousel or decrease its presence have been met with strong protests.

Today he is the protagonist of the latest version of the Journey Into Imagination race with Figment.

However, the feature won’t be Figment’s first time on the big screen. He made cameo appearances in 2015 In reverse and 2019 Toy Story 4.

It sure looks familiar to me, but I couldn’t have told you Figment’s name. It will be fun to see an entire movie based on this cute character.
