Hauser goes on to talk about some changes, saying, “The first thing that changes is that he moved into the main house, which is a place he has never felt so comfortable. It’s a weird thing to think that John Dutton [Kevin Costner] he is actually related to him now through marriage. “

It is explained that Beth and Rip are also dealing with some things from the past. Hauser continues: “What I like about what [Taylor Sheridan] wrote that this year it burns slowly with me and Beth. In the beginning, there are some wonderful moments between us, some things that she is going through in her past, that she has to recognize for the first time, and I try to help her with that. “

Adds Reilly: “The war feels internal this year for her. [She’s] haunted by the past, afraid of the future and struggling with everything she has for the present moment. “

As for Kayce, when Season 5 starts she will happily live life on the reservation, but it won’t last long. Grimes said, “When you meet him [in season 5], it’s off the ranch. She is almost almost happy. He seems to like his little life in the res with the family. But as the story goes on, you realize she can’t stay away for too long. Something calls him to take care of that legacy. “

As for Kayce’s vision in Season 4, she still has a lot in mind. Grimes explains: “In true Kayce style, there is no relief from the type of rock and hard place in between.”

As for what fans can expect from the season as a whole, Grimes adds, “Each season has been incredibly different. I think that’s the beauty of Taylor’s writing. He knows how to make this show take every twist and turn. possible, and to keep it so fresh. Each year has been very different from the last. “
