“Deadpool 3”: Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman explain how Wolverine fits into the MCU after “Logan”

On the night of Tuesday, September 27, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman decided to break the internet with the surprise announcement that the latter will play Wolverine again in “Deadpool 3,” which hits theaters on September 6, 2024thus marking the first time we will officially see the mutant with the adamantine claws in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

'Logan'

As usual, there was a real earthquake in the Marvel fandom, which applauded Jackman’s return after saying goodbye, presumably forever, to the character in 2017 with “Logan”, his latest chapter in the “X-” saga. Men “for 20th Century Fox, prior to Disney’s purchase of the studio. And of course, in addition to the fervent reactions in the networks, the big announcement immediately highlighted many questions, including how Wolverine will fit into the MCU after “Logan”.

The day after giving the bombing, Reynolds and Jackman posted another joint video on their social networks in which they promise to explain how everything will work. “I’m sure you have a lot of questions. But don’t worry, we’ll answer right away.”Jackman says. “For instance, How does Wolverine still live after ‘Logan’?”. Reynolds intervenes with the answer, rather logical on the other hand: “‘Logan’ takes place in 2029. It’s a completely separate thing. Logan died in ‘Logan’. We won’t touch him.”.

Reynolds then proceeds to explain the plot of “Deadpool 3”, but if you thought we would find out so soon, it’s because you don’t know the actor. When the two begin to tell what we will see in the long-awaited (and now more) third chapter of the Mercenary with the mouth, ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go’ by Wham! with the volume so loud that we can’t hear what they say. The video ends with a thank you message to Kevin Feige: “We love you, Kevin Feige!”. Yes, they trolled us back to their line.

Mutants in the MCU

Ever since Disney’s purchase of Fox was announced, and with it the acquisition of the X-Men and Fantastic Four, among other properties, the arrival of the mutants at UCM has been one of the biggest incentives for Marvel fans. End of the game ‘. There has been a lot of speculation as to which actor will be tasked to succeed Jackman in the role, but that question has been overshadowed (for now) by the return of the actor who everyone will always be Wolverine. However, before Logan’s return, Marvel Studios have already taken the first steps in introducing mutants to its universe, first of all by changing the story of Kamala Khan, who went from being inhumane in the comics to mutant in her Disney + series, ‘Ms. Marvel ‘and, more recently, with the confirmation that Tenoch Huerta’s Namor will also be a mutant in’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ‘.
