The director of Marvel Lama, Bassam Tariq, he left the project just a couple of months before the start of production on the film. Filming was supposed to start in November and, as you might expect, the departure was quite shocking. There is no doubt that Marvel is trying to figure out who to call to replace him.
It is not known exactly why Bassam left the project, but he will remain as executive producer as he spent a lot of time developing the film, which stars Mahershala Ali in the title role. The film is also the protagonist Delroy Lindo And Aaron Pierre.
Tariq said in a statement: “It has been an honor to work with the wonderful people of Marvel. We were able to put together a killer cast and crew. Eager to see where the next director will take the film. “
I guess this means the film won’t go into production in two months. It’s not enough time to bring in a new director and then prepare for the shoot, which is sure to be huge. All of these Marvel projects are huge productions, and whoever Marvel brings in later will need time to understand their vision of the film and prepare for it.
The film was supposed to be released on November 3, 2023, but I doubt the release date will stick around. Who would you like Marvel to hire to bring Lama to the big screen?
