EVANGELION: 3.0 + 1.01 THRICE UPON A TIME gets North American theatrical dates

Earlier this year, it was announced that GKIDS had acquired the North American rights to the anime film Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.01 Three times. This film serves as the final installment of the Rebuild editions of Evangelion and will finally hit North American theaters. When it was announced, no dates were given, but GKIDS recently provided us with the theater dates! North American fans can watch screenings on December 6, 8 and 11 in participating cinemas. Hideaki Yearthe creator of Neon Genesis Evangelionacts as the director for the film and this is exciting!

From legendary director Hideaki Anno, EVANGELION: 3.0 + 1.01 THRICE ONCE UPON A TIME is the fourth and final installment of the REBUILD OF EVANGELION films, bringing an epic conclusion to the story of Shinji and his fellow Eve pilots, with graphics and the mind-boggling thought-provocative narrative that made EVANGELION a global pop culture phenomenon.

Misato and her anti-NERV group Wille arrive in Paris, a city now reddened by chore-ization. The crew of the Wunder flagship lands on a containment tower. They only have 720 seconds to restore the city. When a NERV Eva horde appears, Mari’s enhanced Eva Unit 8 must intercept it. Meanwhile, Shinji, Asuka and Rei (Provisional Name) roam Japan.

Evangelion has become a quintessential anime series, so this is a real treat. To prepare Three times, fans can watch the original series on Netflix or via Blu-ray and digital. The previous Evangelion movies are available via Blu-ray and digital. Tickets for Three times will be available starting November 2nd at Fathom Events, GKIDS and in participating theaters.
