Lionsgate has released a new trailer for its upcoming exorcism horror film, Devil’s prey. The film centers on a young nun who is being prepared to become the first female exorcist, and she finds herself facing demonic possessions for the Catholic Church, most notably a young girl with whom she forms an attachment.
It looks like it could be a decent horror movie to watch during the Halloween season. There may be some good fears here to entertain the public. Here is the synopsis:
In response to the global increase in demonic possessions, the Catholic Church reopens the schools of exorcism to train priests in the Rite of Exorcism. On this spiritual battlefield, an unlikely warrior arises: a young nun, Sister Ann (Jacqueline Byers).
Although nuns are forbidden to perform exorcisms, one professor (Colin salmon; Resident Evil, Alien vs. Predator, Nobody) recognizes Sister Ann’s gifts and agrees to train her. Push to the spiritual forefront with fellow student Father Dante (Cristiano Navarro; “13 Reasons Why”), Sister Ann finds herself in a battle for the soul of a young girl (whom Sister Ann believes is possessed by the same demon that tormented her mother years ago), and soon realizes that the devil she’s right where he wants her … and she wants to enter.
Devil’s prey was directed by Daniel Stamm (The last exorcism) with a script written by Roberto Zappia (Halloween H20: 20 years later). The film is also the protagonist Virginia Madsen (Candyman) next to Lisa Palfrey, Nicholas RalphAnd Ben Croce.
The film will be released in theaters on October 28, 2022.
