A few months ago we learned the news of the creation of “The Walking Dead: Dead City”, a six-episode miniseries based on the characters of Maggie and Negan, both played by Lauren Cohan (“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (“Project Rampage”) respectively. The news surprised both fans and crew members of “The Walking Dead”, who they expected a little more secrecy ahead of the premiere, on October 3, of the third part of the eleventh and final season of the historic series.

Now, in an interview for EW, the 56-year-old actor has shown his disappointment with how the initial announcement was: “This is not how we should have acted. But that’s how it was chosen to be advertised. And who knows? Maybe we couldn’t have kept the secret. But it seems to me that we could have given it a chance. I would have tried to do it another way, but look, it’s above my salary”.
In turn, Dean Morgan wanted to explain the reasons that led him to accept the job in the spin-off after more than a decade in the role of Negan in the American horror series: “If you had asked me a year ago, I would have said: ‘Absolutely not, I’m going to finish this and go.. A new adventure awaits me by doing something else ‘”. However, the actor pauses and reflects: “I think finishing ‘The Walking Dead’ and walking away would have been a noble thing for all of us. But the story was so beautiful and so worthy of being told that I couldn’t say no.. And I felt encouraged and wanted to continue. “.
What will the plot of the miniseries be?
It will be set in New York City, which has been isolated from the rest of the country for a long time.. At the start of the zombie apocalypse during the original series, the bridges collapsed and the tunnels were blown up because a large number of walkers invaded it. Now, the Big Apple has become an anarchic world full of dangers, inhabited by more than two million walkers and the few humans still alive. It is expected that during the aforementioned premiere of the last season of “The Walking Dead”, it will be explained how Negan and Maggie will arrive on the island of Manhattan to continue their adventures a little more.
