MENYR is a storytelling engine that offers free AAA graphics on a virtual table

NOG Studio is very ambitious. They have a Kickstarter running for a new virtual table called Menyr, and it looks crazy. The NOG team wants to provide a 3D table with AAA graphics absolutely free and so far it looks pretty damn good.

Menyr is designed to have a ton of features like the ability to procedurally generate a world, dungeons, etc. quickly. So you don’t have to plan every detail. You can then go in and tweak it as you see fit, but most of the muscle work has been done. You can also import your own 2D and 3D models for use.

It seems absurd that they will make it free. Their current plan is to pay for Menyr through purchasable cosmetics like dice and special effects, as well as taking a cut from sales on their community marketplace where creators can sell (or gift) characters, maps, scenery, music, and more.

Menyr is a storytelling engine designed to allow players to create worlds in seconds and play directly on the virtual table with your friends. Great for playing TTRPGs, you will be able to change the mood of your scenes in real time, venture out and fight in your own worlds with AAA graphics.

You can choose to play entirely online or launch Menyr on screen during an “in person” session.

From procedural dungeon generation to on-the-fly biome switching, dice rolling and access to your character sheet, there’s everything you need to play your favorite RPG with Menyr.

If you back Kickstarter, you will get some goodies even though it is expected to be free. You can access the closed beta set taking place during the first quarter of 2023, exclusive dice, exclusive character bases, and more.
