BOOM! Studios has a new horror comic series on the horizon, The approach. Written by Jeremy Haun And Jason A. Hurle with art Jesus Hervás, the series is about a missing plane that mysteriously reappears after two decades and brings with it a sinister storm. Here is the official synopsis:
When airport employees Mac and Abigail find themselves covered in snow after a blizzard, they witness a terrible plane crash. After pulling a survivor out of the rubble, they realize a terrifying truth: This plane has been missing for 27 years! However, the nightmare has only just begun, as people trapped at the airport are soon confronted with what this plane actually reported. For those who are afraid of flying, it is not the sky that deserves fear, but what lies beyond it …
The description and the pictures at first glance make me think of the classic horror movie The thing. Maybe it’s just because of the snowy setting, but having a mysterious craft carrying something sinister is definitely in the same vein.
