A new trailer has been released for the Whitney Houston biopic, I want to dance with someonehero Noemi Ackie (The end of the fucking world) in the main role. It also includes the biographical drama about the life and times of the iconic singer Ashton Sanders like Bobby Brown and Stanley Tucci like Clive Davis. Clarke Peters will play John Houston, Whitney’s father, and Tamara Tunie will play Cissy Houston, Whitney’s mother.
Kasi lemons (Harriet) is directing the photo from a script by Bohemian Rhapsody screenwriter Antonio McCarten.
Sony describes I want to dance with someone as a “no holds barred portrait of the complex and multifaceted woman behind The Voice”. The film tells the story of a New Jersey choir girl who has become one of the best-selling and award-winning artists of all time. Houston’s career took off soon after the release of her self-titled debut album in 1985, and she went on to sing the mega-hits “Greatest Love of All”, “Saving All My Love For You”, “Didn’t We Almost Have It All “,” Run To You “,” How Will I Know “,” One Moment In Time “,” I’m Every Woman “and the cover of Dolly Parton,” I Will Always Love You “, have become popular in her movies, The bodyguardin which he starred opposite Kevin Costner.
Unfortunately she continued to struggle with drug addiction and died in 2012 at the age of 48. She was a beautiful singer and extraordinary talent, and I am thrilled to hear her music again in this film. It seems that Naomi Ackie really captures her personality and her star quality.
