It will be at the end of this year when Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will finally close with the premiere of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, one of the most anticipated films by fans, and of which the actor Winston Duke has revealed that Tenoch Huerta’s Namor will be more convincing than Jason Momoa’s Aquaman.
For those who don’t know, Namor was Marvel’s first superhero in the comics, and although he wasn’t in the MCU, now Tenoch Huerta will bring him to life on the big screen. However, due to his adaptation of him, he has undergone some changes and is often compared to Jason Momoa’s Aquaman in the DCEU.
But now, during an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the actor who played M’Baku in ‘Black Panther’ reveals that the Tenoch Huerta’s Namor and Jason Momoa’s Aquaman are not the samedespite being often compared, and the tone of the character in the MCU is totally different.
In our version, it feels much more real than fiction. In the style of the MCU.
Duke stated that Tenoch Huerta’s character is more realistic than Momoa’s Aquaman, as it has “real cultural significance and cultural traditions,” he said. “Ryan Coogler’s creation within the Marvel cinematic landscape is a creation of deep honor and connection with real things. So I think a lot of people will see themselves represented. ”
Tenoch Huerta hopes fans will fall in love with Namor
Although many fans believe he is the villain of ‘Black Panther 2’, Tenoch Huerta revealed that Namor is not the antagonist: “I hope people can fall in love with the character, but given the circumstances, why does he behave this way? it’s wonderful … Spoiler? No, no, it’s not a spoiler. He’s great. I love him. Thank you. ”
Tenoch’s words imply that Namor has likely had a setback with the Wakandans and, although they have interests against him, he is a character who also wants to improve his family and community. At the moment there are no more details on his participation in the plot of ‘Black Panther 2’.
