Roadshow Films has released a trailer for its next Australian film Bluebackwhich is an ocean nature drama that follows a young woman named Abby who befriends a fish and accepts the challenge of protecting him and his home.
The film is the protagonist Mia Wasikowska like Abby, and is based on the novel by Tim Winton. Blueback is “a timely story about the ocean, a beautiful sea creature and a young girl’s power to change the world. The story centers on a young woman who befriends a wild blue sea bass as she dives and becomes a passionate activist to protect Australia’s coral reef ecosystem from destruction.
When Abby is older, she sees that her fish friend and her home are in danger, so she embarks on a journey to save her friend.
The film was directed by Roberto Connolly (The dry) and is also the protagonist Radha Mitchell, Ilsa Fogg, Liz Alessandro, Ariel Donoghue, Clarence Ryan, Pedro Jackson, Erik Thomson, Eddie BaroAnd Eric Bana.
Blueback will be released in Australian theaters on January 1, 2023. No other dates have been revealed.
