Music Box Films has revealed a trailer for a fantastic Filipino action comedy called Leonor will never die. It feels like a fantastic and unique movie that looks like nothing I’ve ever seen before. The story follows a retired director named Leonor who falls into a coma after a TV falls on her head. This takes her on an adventure to become the action heroine of an unfinished script she was working on.
The film was written and directed by Martika Ramirez Escobarand the film is described as “an innovative blend of meaty action giveaways, playful comedy and touching family drama, Leonor will never die is a wonderfully imaginative tribute to the art of cinema. “Here is the synopsis:
Leonor Reyes was once a groundbreaking figure in the Filipino film industry during her glory days of messy action cinema, but now struggles with old age, rising bills, and the untimely death of her son. While revisiting an unfinished script about a fearless protagonist trying to avenge the murder of her brother, Leonor is hit in the head by a television that falls and ends up in a coma. As she lies unconscious in the hospital, fantasy and reality begin to blur when Leonor finds herself awake within her script, becoming the hero of her own story.
The movie stars Sheila Francisco as Leonor, along with a fun cast that includes Cabrera Bong, Rocky Salumbidae, Rea MolinaAnd Antonio Falcone.
Leonor will never die will be released in selected American theaters later in 2022.
