Currently, the production of the third season of ‘The Witcher’ has already ended a few days ago, after five months of recording. And although there is no release date yet, now Netflix has given life to the fourth and fifth installments, which would further expand the story with Henry Cavill.
A few months ago, it was reported that Netflix was already working on the fourth season of ‘The sorcerer’, according to director Stephen Surjik. However, there have been no updates since then on the company’s plans for the future of the story with Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan, until now.
According to information from Redanian Intelligence, their sources report it Netflix has already approved seasons 4 and 5 of ‘The sorcerer’, even when the release date of the next episode of Geralt de Rivia is not yet known, delayed by the infection of Henry Cavill.
At the moment they say so Netflix has plans to record seasons 4 and 5 of ‘The sorcerer’ consecutively, but it was not revealed when the recordings would begin. Media sources assure that the drafting of the script for the next episodes will begin in the coming months.
Seasons 4 and 5 of “The Witcher” would go hand in hand
It is not new for Netflix to record two seasons of one of its series almost simultaneously, they did so with the three episodes of “Vikings: Valhalla”, which were shot one after the other. However, with “The Witcher”, which lasted about 5-6 months each, it seems like a tall order.
If they succeed, that would mean nearly a full year for Henry Cavill and the entire “The Witcher” production team. Netflix should have a detailed filming plan with alternatives, so that in case a delivery doesn’t work, cancellation could be something serious.
As for the release date, there is nothing official, but estimates assure that the fourth season of “The Witcher” will begin recording at the end of 2023, to be released in December 2024. While the second would go into production for those dates, coming to Netflix until 2025.
