Peter Farrelly in talks with John Cena and Zac Efron to star in his R-Rated comedy RICKY STANICKY

Director Pietro Farlly is best known for directing exaggerated comedies such as Dumber and dumber, Pin, There is something about MaryAnd Stuck on you. It’s been a while since we last saw an R-rated comedy by Farrelly and fans are looking forward to his dramatic drama. The biggest beer race ever due out later this month on Apple TV +, but it looks like the director is going back to his roots with the upcoming comedy Ricky Stanky.

Ricky Stanky it will be in the spirit of the raucous comedies listed above that he made with his brother Bobby, and is looking to cast John Cena in the title role, with Zac Efron protagonist in front.

Farrelly said about the project and the possible casting:

“I will shoot it in January and we are in talks with John Cena and Zac Efron. They are not locked up. I want to make it clear. Ricky StankyI think, it’s just a hilarious movie, and it’s a great message, not just a bunch of hard-R laughs. There is something about Mary ultimately it’s about true love. There have been many times when Ted, Ben Stiller’s character, would have simply pulled back, except he was in love. He gets these false reports that Mary has all sorts of problems; she has too many children from too many boys; she is in assistance. He still wants to find her because he loves her, and that’s the final message. The message of Ricky Stanky it is somewhat different, but I think it will resonate.

Farrelly says that Stanicky is a fictional character used by a group of married friends to blame their misbehavior when they seek excuses from their wives. He continues explaining:

“What happens is the wives eventually say, ‘Hey, wait a second – how come we never met Stanicky? He wasn’t at our wedding. ‘ Well, he was building houses in Africa. Well, he wasn’t this or that. Bring him here, or don’t come home. So they hire a guy to come here for a day. They create a bible for the boy and pay him a thousand dollars to become Ricky Stanicky. He does it with flying colors to the point that everyone loves him. Besides, the guys can’t get rid of him. Cena is Ricky Stanicky, and if you’ve seen it inside pacifier, see what he can do in a comedy. He is hysterical in a show that really pushes him. I never knew much about John Cena until I saw him, and I thought, “There’s Stanicky right there.” That boy, I love him. His timing is flawless, and it’s amazing for a guy his size. He looks like a kid. His sense of humor is more self-deprecating than grownups usually do. I learned this is a guy in the Guinness Book of Records for Make-a-Wish Foundation grants. He has done about 500, and that’s what he likes every weekend. He’s a sweet, big-hearted guy, and that’s what this Stanicky must be. He has to be this guy who is a cheater, but you can’t help but love him, and he becomes a problem for our kids when he starts overcoming them in so many ways. “
