Marvel reveals the cast of Captain America: New World Order at D23

The fourth solo chapter of Captain America was one of the great protagonists of the Marvel panel at D23 Expo 2022. The House of Ideas has unveiled the cast that will accompany Anthony Mackie on his first cinematic adventure as a successor to Chris Evans like the charismatic superhero. Among the new signings, names like Shira Haas and Tim Blake Nelson stand out. The film, directed by Julius Onah, theatrical release is scheduled for May 3, 2024.

‘New World Order’, a title that refers to the first episode of the miniseries ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’, will be a direct continuation of the aforementioned fiction. It will be Sam Wilson’s first adventure transformed into the new Captain America and also the first tape of the character as the protagonist.

Together with Mackie, will be the Israeli actress Shira Haasrecognized for films like “Foxtrot” or “Broken Mirrors” and series like “Unorthodox” or “Shtisel”, in the role of Sabra; as well as Tim Blake Nelson (“O Brother!”, “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs”), who will reprise the role of Samuel Sterns, the Leader, the iconic villain from “The Incredible Hulk”. Also present will be Danny Ramírez and Carl Lumbley, who will once again play Joaquín Torres and Isaiah Bradley after appearing in “Falcon and the Winter Soldier”.

The team made it to the panel. Julius Onah, director of the film, described him as a “paranoid thriller”. On the other hand, Mackie didn’t hesitate to share his enthusiasm for the project. “I’m nervous and very excited! That’s everything I hoped it was [la secuela]he said at a press conference.

Sam Wilson’s Captain America is expected to return

It was “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” that laid the foundations for this fourth installmentin which Sam Wilson agrees to become Steve Rogers’ successor after the U.S. government’s failed attempt to make John Walker (Wyatt Russell) the heir to the superhero’s name, who proved unworthy of possessing the Vibranium shield of hero and ended the miniseries by becoming USA Agent, who is an anti-hero in the comics. “Captain America: New World Order” is one of the films that will be part of Phase 5 of the MCUwhich, in turn, will be the first feature film from the Casa de las Ideas to be released on the big screen in 2024. Onah directs the film, whose screenplay is entrusted to Dalan Musson and Malcolm Spellman, former screenwriters of “Falcon and the soldier ‘winter”.
