“Dessapointment Blvd” with Joaquin Phoenix becomes A24’s most expensive film

This year, the A24 production company released some of the most acclaimed titles in its recent history, such as ‘X’, ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’ and, of course, ‘Everything everywhere at the same time’, while at the end of the year in which they hope to release “The Whale”. And now, “Dissapointment Blvd” with Joaquin Phoenix manages to be the studio’s largest production to date.

It was recently revealed that “Everything everywhere, at the same time” became the highest-grossing film in the history of the A24. However, now, according to information from Variety, now ‘Delapointmen Boulevard’ by Ari Aster is the studio’s highest investment film.

According to reports, the budget of ‘Boulevard of disappointment’ is 55 million dollars, becoming the A24’s most expensive film to date. Since its announcement, Ari Aster’s black comedy starring Joaquin Phoenix has been described as an ambitious production, nearly 4 hours long.

It is known that ‘Boulevard of disappointment’ may not be released this 2022and instead, A24 decides to show it for the first time at the Cannes Film Festival 2023. It is worth mentioning that the studio ordered the duration cut, as reports assured that it would reach 210 minutes.

What is ‘Dessapointment Blvd’ about?

There is very little information so far, but it is known that “Dissapointment Blvd” is the next film from director Ari Aster, best known for “Hereditary” and “Midsommar”. The tape is described as a horror comedy and will star Joaquin Phoenix (“Joker”).

In the rest of the cast of ‘Dissapointment Blvd’, we will see stars such as Patti LuPone, Nathan Lane, Amy Ryan, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Parker Posey, Denis Ménochet (Inglourious Basterds), Michael Gandolfini (The Sopranos), Richard Kind, Kylie Rogers, Hayley Squires and Zoe Lister Jones.

The story follows a man, a successful businessman, who, upon learning of his mother’s death, begins a “Kafkaesque” journey. There have been no further plot details so far, but based on the leaked photos from the set, it can be seen that this is another role that required a physical change from Joaquin Phoenix.

Reports ensured that A24 had ordered to reduce the total length of “Dessapointment Blvd” to a cut that may be more commercial in theaters around the world. A24 is expected to reveal the first official details of this story with Joaquin Phoenix in the coming weeks.
