The time has come … NBC has released a full trailer for its upcoming reboot of Quantum Leap giving us our best look at the time travel adventures of Raymond Lee like Dr. Ben Seong. As a fan of the original series, he starred Scott Bakula, I was curious about this new show. It looks ok, and I’ll try.
In the series, “It’s been nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the quantum leap accelerator and disappeared. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee), has been assembled to restart the project. “
“Everything changes, however, when Ben takes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it. Beside Ben during his jumps is Addison (Caitlin Bassett), a decorated army veteran who appears in the form of a hologram that only Ben can see and hear.
“Herbert ‘Magic’ Williams (Erni Hudson) directs the highly confidential operation whose team at headquarters includes Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park) and Jenn Chou (Nanrisa Lee). “
There are some interesting questions that arise in this trailer that I’m sure will be explored over the course of the series. One of the great mysteries is that everyone involved in the Quantum Leap Project is confused as to why Ben uses the accelerator. The project was reactivated to find Bakula’s Sam and bring him home. Why did Ben decide to make the leap? I guess we’ll find out!
Quantum Leap will debut Monday, September 19 on NBC, streamed the following day on Peacock.
