Even when major Warner Bros. Discovery projects such as “Batgirl”, among others, were canceled, the new animated film “Batman: Clash of Empires” has moved on and now reveals the cast of actors who will bring life to this new Dark Knight Adventure movie, with Omar Chaparro as the new Joker.
For this occasion the Night Rider will descend to Tenochtitlán with ‘Batman: Clash of Empires’, The new animated film from DC which has a premiere scheduled for the following year 2023, through the HBO Max platform. During the latest celebration of the Guadalajara Film Festival, this film was revealed and the first official details have now been revealed.
The big surprise of ‘Batman: Clash of Empires’ is Omar Chaparro as the Joker, although for this occasion the Joker will bear the name of Yoka, who is described as a “strict and conservative priest, who believes in the ancient prophecies of the return of the gods”. The villain seeks advice from Huitzilopochtli, but this deity requires sacrifices in return.

Along with this revelation, HBO Max confirmed that “Batman: Clash of Empires” will have a completely original story in Spanish, and the synopsis advances: “In the time of the Aztec Empire, young Yohualli Coatl experiences a tragedy when his father and boss village is assassinated by the Spanish conquistadors Yohualli flees to Tenochtitlan to warn King Moctezuma and his high priest, Yoka, of the imminent danger.
Using the Tzinacan temple as a lair, Yohualli trains with his mentor and assistant, Acatzin, developing equipment and weapons to face the Spanish invasion to protect the Moctezuma temple and avenge his father’s death.
It has also been confirmed that Horacio García Rojas, known for his participation in the series “Narcos: Mexico”, will play Yohualli Coatl, or the pre-Hispanic Bruce Wayne. While the other villain of the plot will be Hernán Cortéz, the equivalent of Dos Caras, and who will be played by Álvaro Morte, known internationally as the Professor in “The House of Paper”.

The team behind this DC animated film (made entirely by Mexican talent) includes Juan Meza León from the “Harley Quinn” series as the director of the film. There is no release date for “Batman: Clash of Empires” on HBO Max so far, but it is expected to arrive in 2023.
