The director of The warriors And 48 hours, Walter Hilldirected a new western thriller titled Dead for a dollar, and managed to bring a pretty solid ensemble cast for the trip. The movie stars Christoph Waltz, Willem Defoe, Rachel Brosnahan, Benjamin Bratt, Brandon ScottAnd Hamish Linklater.
The film follows veteran bounty hunter Max Borlund who “is deep in Mexico where he meets professional gambler and outlaw Joe Cribbens, a sworn enemy he sent to prison years earlier. Max is on a mission to find and return Rachel Kidd, the wife of a wealthy businessman, who, as the story tells Max, was kidnapped by Buffalo Soldier Elijah Jones. Eventually Max has to face a showdown to save his honor.
We have a trailer to watch for the movie, which has an old school western vibe and I love it. Even though the film didn’t have a big budget to work with, I love the cast and hope it ends up telling a good story. I’m always up for a western, so I’ll definitely check this out.
Dead for a dollar opens on 30 September.
