Sony Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming film Sonwhich is the sequel to the Oscar-winning film The father by the French director Florian Zeller. This is a heavy family drama that has a great, talented cast that includes Hugh Jackman, Laura Dern, Vanessa Kirby, Zen McGrath, Hugh QuarshieAnd Anthony Hopkins.
The story follows “a family struggling to reunite after falling apart. Son centers on Peter, whose busy life with his newborn and new partner Beth is turned upside down when his ex-wife Kate appears with their son Nicholas, who is now a teenager. The young man has been absent from school for months and is upset, distant and angry. Peter struggles to take care of Nicholas as he would have liked his father to take care of him as he juggles his job, his and Beth’s new son, and his offer of his dream position in Washington. However, as he seeks the past to correct his mistakes, he loses sight of how to cling to Nicholas in the present. “
It sounds like a great movie, but it’s sure to take audiences on a pretty exciting journey. The film will premiere at the 2022 Venice Film Festival this month. It will be released in selected theaters on November 11, 2022.
