There is a new horror film project in development titled Queen of Bones and its cast has just been announced. That cast includes Giulia Butter (The Fabelmans), Jacob Tremblay (Doctor Sleep), Martin Freeman (Fargo), And Taylor Schilling (Pam and Tommy). It really looks like it’s going to be a great folk horror movie!
Queen of Bones follows “twin brothers Lily (Butters) and Sam (Tremblay) who live on a remote farm with their widowed father, Malcolm (Freeman), a 1931 luthier in Oregon. When Lily and Sam find an Icelandic spell book in the basement , they begin to suspect a connection between their mother’s death and the dark forces in the woods. They then embark on a dangerous mission to force his father and friend, Ida May (Schilling), to reveal the truth.
I love these kinds of stories and am excited to see how this will actually turn out. Roberto Budreau (Delia is gone) directs from a screenplay by Michael Burgner (The darkest corner of heaven). The film is produced by Appian Way, Lumanity Productions and Productivity Media and has already gone into production in Canada.
Budreau said in a statement, “I’m thrilled to be working with such a stellar cast to bring this fantastic Depression-era popular horror script to life. And I’m equally thrilled to be collaborating with Appian Way and my past partners at Productivity Media.”
Producer William G. Santor added, “We are so excited to be back in business with Robert as the director of another film for Productivity Media. He has a great creative voice and we are thrilled to embark on this journey with him and our award-winning collaborative partners from Appian Way. ”
