Currently, Netflix has several adaptations of Stephen King’s novels in the works and is now adding one more to the list. ‘Mr. Harrigan’s Phone ‘will be the new horror film based on a story by the writer, which appears in his most recent collection, known as’ If It Bleeds’ of 2020.

Through Bloody Disgusting, it was announced that Netflix is ​​preparing an adaptation of ‘Mr. Harrigan’s phone’ by Stefano King, which will be produced by Blumhouse, responsible for “The Black Phone” or “Halloween Ends”. In addition, it will be directed by John Lee Hancock, who also writes the screenplay.

This feature film is part of the list of releases for the end of 2022 and Netflix confirmed this ‘Mr. Harrigan’s phone’ will premiere on 5 October. Additionally, the director himself said (via Bloody Disgusting) that he had already seen “an almost finished cut” of the film, which he described as “nothing but genius”.

According to the official synopsis of ‘Mr. Harrigan’s phone’ by Stefano King, speaks of Craig, “a boy who lives in a small town, befriends Mr. Harrigan, a lonely old billionaire.” The Los form a friendship thanks to their love of books and reading, but when the man dies, the boy discovers a way to communicate with his old partner.

Who will star in the new Stephen King movie on Netflix?

The horror writer’s new film adaptation for Netflix clearly has the spirit of his old works. ‘Mr. Harrigan’s phone will star Jaeden Martell, who has previously starred in another film based on a Stephen King story, such as ‘That’, and who will play the young Craig, and Donald Sutherland as Mr. Harrigan.

In the rest of the cast of ‘Mr. Harrigan’s phone also features Kirby Howell-Baptiste, who was recently seen in Netflix’s adaptation of “The Sandman” as Death. And finally Joe Tippett, Cyrus Arnold, Colin O’Brien, Thomas Francis Murphy and Peggy J. Scott.

It is worth mentioning that ‘Mr. Harrigan’s Phone will be rated 13+ because it will contain “thematic material, strong language, violent content and short drug material”. This new horror film will premiere on October 5 in the Netflix catalog.
