There is a new Batman-themed animated series coming up called Batwheels. The series is geared towards preschoolers and follows a group of super-powerful sentient crime-fighting vehicles that defend Gotham City alongside Batman, Robin, Batgirl and many more DC superheroes.

Ethan Hawke plays Batman in the series and this first clip shows Batman chasing Joker on the Batmobile through the streets of Gotham. This is the first time we’ve heard Hawke’s interpretation of the character.

Here is the official synopsis of the series:

They are a team of incredible crime fighters who have come together to oppose evil, fight crime and clean up the streets of Gotham City. They are … ok, they are NOT Batman and Robin. They are the Batwheels.

Having just been created from the Batcomputer, our heroes are essentially children with little or no life experience. Led by Bam (The Batmobile), the Batwheels – Bibi (The Batgirl Cycle), Redbird (Robin’s Sports Car), The Batwing and Buff (The Bat Truck) – must face the growing challenges of being a newly formed super team, as well as growing pains that come with being a child. This recognizable and ambitious series will follow the journey of this dynamic team as it thrills and entertains with its heroic adventures, as well as demonstrating the value of self-confidence, friendship and teamwork to children.

I like the thought of Ethan Hawke as Batman and his voice definitely fits the character. In addition to Hawke, the rest of the cast includes Jacob Bertrand like Bam, Leah Lewis like Batgirl, AJ Hudson like Duke Tommaso, James Arnold Taylor like Toyman, Jess Harnell like Penguin, Kimberly Brooks like the Batcomputer, Mick Wingert like Moe, Lilimar like Batwing, Xolo Mariduena like Snowy the Snowcrawler, and Gina Rodriguez like Catwoman.

Batwheels is produced by Warner Bros. Animation. Sam log is the executive producer of the show with Michael G. Stern as co-executive producer. Steven Fink produces the series for Bang Zoom Ltd. e Simon J. Smith is the supervising producer.

We may not get Bruce Tim’S Batman: Hooded Crusader because it was canceled, but hey, we have this! If you didn’t know, I’m being sarcastic.

Batwheels will debut September 17 on Cartoonito on HBO Max and will later debut on Cartoonito on Cartoon Network.
