Netflix is collaborating Train to Busan And Pact with hell director Yeon Sang-ho to develop a live-action Korean adaptation of the hit Japanese sci-fi horror manga Parasite: the gray.
The story sees a group of humans wage war against the growing evil of unidentified parasitic life forms that live off human hosts and strive to grow their power.
The series is the protagonist Jeon So-nee (Scripting your destiny, when my love blossoms, I meet) as Jeong Su-in “who falls victim to a parasite; when she fails to take control of her brain, she enters into a bizarre coexistence with it.
The series is also the protagonist Koo Kyo-hwan (Peninsula, DP And Kingdom: Northern Ashin) as Seol Kang-woo who “tracks parasites to find his missing sister”. Then, there is Lee Jung-hyun (Peninsula, decision to leave, the admiral: roaring currents), who plays Choi Jun-kyung, the leader of ‘Team Gray’, “a task force that fights parasites. Having lost her husband to these invasive life forms, she is dedicated to their disappearance ”.
Yeon talked about the project, saying, “The story will be completely different from the original. The opening will establish that the parasites have landed in Korea as well and what happens. I said I wanted to do this kind of story to the original author through Kodansha and we were able to proceed because he liked it. “
The project is preparing to begin filming next month. A release date has yet to be set.
