‘Star Wars’: Ewan McGregor closes the doors to Marvel to join the UCM

The “Star Wars” franchise saw the return of Ewan McGregor most recently in the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series, where he brings the legendary Jedi back to life. Now, the actor has faced the possibility of joining the ranks of the MCU, but doesn’t find the idea very compelling about Marvel.

In addition to the “Star Wars” saga, Ewan McGregor was also a member of the UEDC, with the film ‘Birds of Prey’, in which he starred with Margot Robbie and his wife, actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead. So cinematic universes are nothing new to the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” actor.

In the last edition of Expo Boston there was a panel in which Ewan McGregor spoke about the possibility of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (via comic). The actor explained that the idea is a lot of fun at first, but he’s not sure if he’ll be part of another big franchise.

I’m in this Star Wars world. I feel I don’t need another one … I’m not looking for it anyway. ”

Although in principle Ewan McGregor doesn’t want to get involved with Marvel, you know that if there is an interesting offer, you might consider it: “I feel like I shouldn’t say I wouldn’t do this because in two years you will say, ‘You said you would never do this!’ But I’m not looking for him in particular. ”

I definitely want to do it again, ”added McGregor. At the moment, the ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ star has neither a confirmed role as director nor a confirmed role in theater.
