Although some recognize it from the Disney cartoon, Winnie the Pooh is now no longer owned by the company and anyone can use its rights completely legally. That’s why the horror movie “Blood and Honey” is now coming, which takes characters from the hundred-acre forest to turn them into evil assassins.
For the uninitiated, at the beginning of last year 2022, the rights to Disney’s Winnie the Pooh ceased to be owned by the company and went into the public domain. Which allowed director Rhys Waterfield to work on a horror film in which the adorable bear and pig would become murderers, resulting in “Blood and Honey”.
The film has raised a lot of expectations, but at the moment only a few images and the first official poster of the film have come out. As for its release, “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” is expected to be released in late 2022, although there is no specific date for its release.
What hasn’t even been confirmed is when it will reach the national territory, since there are no distributors that will handle the premiere of “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” in Mexico, at least for now. It is expected that once the official release date is confirmed, there will be a film franchise confirming its release in the region.
Will “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” be released in theaters or in streaming?
According to the director of the horror film, Rhys Waterfield, the post-production phase of the film has already begun and they hope to speed up the process as soon as possible to ensure it is released this year. However, he did not provide details on whether “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” would be released in conventional theaters or on streaming platforms such as Netflix or HBO Max.
The ranking of ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ is R, meaning it will not be a film suitable for children under the age of 17, unless accompanied by an adult. Which means there will be violent, sexual content and strong language between his scenes, according to the Motion Picture Association of America.
Both producer Jagged Edge and director Waterfield are expected to reveal details about the premiere of “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” in the coming weeks and confirm whether it will hit theaters in Mexico or be available on some of the most popular streaming platforms.
