Neve Campbell (He shouted, House of cards) has signed on to star in the next ABC drama Avalon which was created by the Emmy winner David E. Kelley (Practice, Little big lies, Nine complete strangers) and novelist Michael Connellywho wrote the books in Woods series, as well as Attorney Lincoln, which was also created by Kelley and features Campbell in a starring role. Campbell is set to continue Attorney Lincoln as a recurring guest star in the second season.
Avalon, which received a direct order to the series from ABC, is a completely different story and “takes place in the town of Avalon on Catalina Island, where Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department detective Nicole ‘Nic’ Searcy (Campbell) directs a small office. Catalina has a local population serving more than 1 million tourists a year, and every day when the ferries arrive, hundreds of potential new stories enter the island. Detective Searcy is drawn into a career-defining mystery that she will test everything she knows about herself and the island.
“Campbell’s Nic is the only detective assigned to the Catalina Island substation. A little inscrutable, Nic is not easily intimidated and keeps his morale firm. Ironically, his strong moral compass is what led to her being banished to Catalina’s largest city, Avalon. It’s a gig no career-oriented L.A. cop would want, but Nic soon discovers that his invaluable detective skills are needed on Avalon more than he could have imagined.
It looks so exciting! I’m a huge Michael Connelly fan and can’t wait to see this story unfold. Will you watch this series?
