A couple of days ago, Netflix mistakenly leaked some small glimpses of scenes that had been deleted from the first season of Neil Gaiman’s adaptation in a YouTube video. Now, the platform officially launches Chapter 11 of “The Sandman” with the appearance of James McAvoy.

Although the first season of ‘The man of sand’ premiered 10 episodes on Netflix, the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s novel decided to extend its story to an extra episode, split into two parts, which would serve as the final episode of the series. In addition, they feature several recognized names such as James McAvoy.

The new content of ‘The man of sand’ is portrayed by James McAvoy, famous for films like “Split” or “X-Men: Days of the Future Past”. While other stars invited to the Netflix special are Sandra Oh, Rosie Day, Michael Shee and the author of the original novel, Neil Gaiman.

The first part is about the adaptation of “The Dream of a Thousand Cats”, an animated version of one of Neil Gaiman’s stories, in which Tom Sturridge as Morpheus arrives in a world of the dream kingdom in which many cats are the ones who have humans as slaves.

Netflix releases the two-part special “The Sandman”.

In the second part of the Special of ‘The man of sand’, Sturridge himself participatesbut this time with Melissanthi Mahunt and Arthur Darvill, in the story entitled ‘Calliope’, also based on the eponymous tale by Neil Gaiman, in which Morpheus reunites with his old girlfriend who gives the episode its name.

At the moment, there are no details as to whether the published chapter is part of the season finale of ‘The Sandman’, or where it is in the timeline of the first 10 episodes. So we’ll have to wait to find out if it’s the preparation of the second season announcement.

Calliope’s story and A Thousand Cats Dream introduce characters and story arcs that could be important to the future of The Sandman series if a second season is confirmed. So we’ll just have to wait to see if Netflix gives the green light to new episodes in the coming weeks.
