Tatiana Maslany wants women to identify with ‘She-Hulk’: “There’s a lot of humanity” – Special (courtesy)
Disney Plus has released its most recent Marvel Studios series, the latest in UCM Phase 4, which will only be followed by the premiere of ‘Black Pnather: Wakanda Forever’. August 18, 2022 was the long-awaited launch of this production starring the actress Tatiana Maslany who wishes women could get in touch like her with this character.
“She-Hulk”, which consists of only nine episodes, will connect with one of the 2008 films, returning to Marvel’s last 14 years when the MCU was just starting its journey, it will be precisely with “The Incredible Hulk” (Edward Norton), in a character who would later occupy the actor Marco Ruffalò.
Malany describes her character in the Marvel series as “Inexperienced”, “confused”, “insecure”, in a story about a young lawyer who, overnight, discovers that he must learn to live with his superpowers, even if he didn’t do it I don’t want them.
She is a woman who is trying to put her life in order and suddenly something huge happens to her, but she doesn’t want to do anything about it. She doesn’t want to be a superheroine, “she explains the actress about the new fiction.
After years of persistence from fans of the Marvel universe, the entertainment factory has ventured to transfer the life of Jennifer Waltersa lawyer specializing in the defense of “superhumans” who, by mistake, receives a blood transfusion from his cousin: none other than the robust Hulk, embodied once again by Mark Ruffalo for the series released on Disney Plus.
Until now only comic book readers knew “She Hulk” (Hulka or Giganta, in the Spanish-speaking world), a heroine whom the actress tasked with bringing her to life on television identifies as “the antithesis” of what it means to be a superhero.

The series has the contrast between a huge world of superheroes begging her to go with them and the will of her, who wants to live her life like a normal person, ”Maslany advances.
“She-Hulk” has the hallmark of Marvel but adds to its intensity and humor
This constant “denial” of the protagonist is what allowed his writers to change the usual intensity of Marvel fiction for a much lighter tone, which takes itself less seriously and seeks the complicity of the viewer.
Part of the novelty is explained by its creator, Jessica Gao, who the franchise signed precisely because her resume is completely different from the action saga. Her signature appears in episodes of series such as the surreal “Rick and Morty” and the “Silicon Valley” parody.
Even so, the writer has decided to stick with the original comics, which are known for being irreverent, subversive and with a much more pronounced social criticism than other corporate stories. He hasn’t given up even one of the characteristics of the “She Hulk” cartoons: when the protagonist breaks the fourth wall and turns to the audience to analyze her actions.
It was imperative that she was in the series, “says Maslany. It’s a way for the protagonist to be friends with the audience, to invite them on their adventure and connect with them in a very intimate way.”
This concludes Phase 4 of the UCM
“She Hulk”, which marks the end of “Phase 4” of the Marvel Cinematic Universe along with the sequel to “Black Panther”, is also her second series starring exclusively by a woman after “Ms. Marvel”.
And it is that not so long ago the idea of a superhero production led exclusively by a woman did not enter the Hollywood plans. Brie Larson became the first actress to star in a Marvel movie with “Captain Marvel” in 2019.
Now, with “She Hulk”, Maslany hopes that “many young women see a complex character and feel reflected”.
The work-life balance, the dating world, the relationship with the family and even the control of anger, much more inhibited than that of the Hulk cousin, are some of the topics that the character talks about.
“When I read the script I saw that I, or my friends, have been through the same things. There is a lot of humanity in the show, the kind that makes us feel ashamed,” he applauds. (With information from EFE).
