The new series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is currently being filmed in Canada. The adaptation of Rick Riordan’s famous book saga is shooting its first season, which will follow in the footsteps of the first novel: “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief”.
On the occasion of the birthday of the fictional protagonist, Percy Jackson, Disney + has released the first official image of the series through its Twitter account.

In the image we can see, from left to right, Leah Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, Walker Scobell as Jackson and Aryan Simhadri as Grover. The three walk away hugging in what presumably could be Camp Half-Blood.
Disney + wanted to celebrate Jackson’s birthday in this way, which will take place on August 18. However, this date finally ends up becoming a disastrous day in the history of books. When he turns 16, Percy is warned about the preservation or disappearance of Olympus.

At full speed
Despite having to wait for this moment to get a first look at the series, production appears to be quite advanced. In a recent interview for Comicbook, Riordan himself, who is also an executive producer, said so the series would have practically recorded its first nine chapters, some of which would already be in the editing phase. However, although the official date is still unknown, The series probably won’t arrive on Disney + until 2024..
