The competition to become the best and biggest of the streaming platforms is getting more and more intense, and even though we know that the giant N has lost subscribers in recent months, due to the changes and modifications to its plans and its prices, continues continues to host large productions. However, the protagonists of The three best releases that await us in August are Disney Plus and HBO Max.

The latter two streaming platforms have established themselves as strong rivals in the entertainment world and, although they are younger than others, they have grown in fortune thanks to the productions they develop and others to which they have acquired the rights. Anyway, this month we will see the three most anticipated releases on HBO Max and Disney Plus.

Starting with the long-awaited “Game of Thrones” prequel that everyone is talking about and that we need to know all the details about before it debuts in the HBO Max options catalog. The series is one of the titles that sounds strong not only in August, but throughout the year, due to the promise of its history and the incursion of more dragons. The remaining couple will have the service of the house of the mouse.

House of the Dragon – HBO Max

More than three years ago the successful “Game of Thrones” series ended, after this time, the long-awaited finally arrives on the small screen prequel under the name “House of the Dragon”, a story set in House Targaryentwo centuries before the original GOT story.

“House of the Dragon” is based on George RR Martin’s “Fire & Blood” and will debut August 21, 2022 through the service of hbo maxwith Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, whom the lords of Westeros have chosen to succeed his grandfather, and Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, his younger brother with “true dragon blood”.

“She-Hulk” – Disney Plus

With the protagonist of Tatiana Maslanythe Emmy Award Winner for Lead Actress (2016) in “Orphan Black”, comes the Marvel series “She-Hulk” which debuts Thursday, August 18 on the Disney Plus streaming platform. With nine episodes in total, it stands as a production comic in which we will see the two faces of the superheroine.

“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”, the career of Jennifer Lewis takes a turn after a transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, turns her into a very reluctant superhero, and supports her peers in court. Well-known Marvel faces in the series that debuts Thursday include Mark Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky-the Abomination and Benedict Wong as Wong.

“The Princess” – HBO Max

With nearly 25 years since Princess Diana’s death, there has never been a shortage of content looking at the massive impact and intrigue of her short life. But a new documentary from director Ed Perkins, “The Princess,” premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival and is available on HBO (and HBO Max).

The the premiere of “The Princess” will take place on Saturday 13th August, turn the lens towards us. The film has no talking heads or voiceovers, it just uses stock footage to tell a different kind of story. It is a surprisingly effective meditative and transport experience.

What to watch after the top 3 streaming previews?

Of lesser impact, but no less important, there are also the names of other productions that arrive for those who are bored with them. We have on Netflix the before ‘Look Both Ways’ which will debut in their catalog on Wednesday 18 August, with Danny Ramirez.

Paramount Plus begins streaming competition and presents “Orphan: First Kill” on Friday, August 19, a film that is the horror prequel to the 2009 release “Orphan”.

And Hulu does its thing with ‘Legacy: the true story of the LA Lakers, a 10-part docuseries that will debut on Monday 15 August. The series promises to detail how real estate tycoon Jerry Buss’s acquisition of the team in 1979 led to its transformation into a multi-million dollar league franchise, including corporate and family conflicts.
