Apple Original Films is producing a two-part documentary film that will explore the life and career of the great Steve Martin. Martin is one of my all time favorite comedians. I grew up listening to and watching his cabaret and I love the films he has made throughout his career.
Martin is working on the documentary with the director Morgan Neville (20 feet from stardom, you don’t want to be my neighbor) and is also produced by A24.
There are no other details about the document that have been revealed, but as a longtime Martin fan, it’s definitely something I can’t wait to watch.
Martin currently stars in the wonderful Hulu comedy series Only murders in the building, and I recently heard that he might retire when he’s done with that show. I hope this is not the case! It would be sad to never see Martin do something new again!
Apple’s list of documentaries also includes the four parts Earvin “Magic” Johnson docuseries They call me Magic; Billie Eilish: The world is a little blurry; The velvet underground; Sidneythe next documentary in honor of actor, director and actor Sidney Poitierand the untitled feature film about the life of Michael J. Fox.
