Her playground is Stonebridge Manor, a home that, like her family, has seen better days. Financially destitute and utterly greedy, Rollo sees her daughter as the way out of her financial ruin by marrying her to a man rich for money and land. But Birdy, like all great teenage heroines, is lively, intelligent, and adventurous – and ready to fend off any suitor she comes to call in ever more ingenious ways. About her Her imagination about her, challenge and deep conviction in her right to independence have put her on a collision course with her parents. When the vilest suitor of all arrives, they are presented with the ultimate proof of love for their daughter.
It sounds like a really nice movie. I love a good story about a woman or girl who defies the system and stands up for what she believes in. Check out the trailer and poster below and watch Catherine called Birdy in selected American theaters on September 23, 2022, then streaming Prime Video starting October 7.
