Warner Bros. Discovery’s leadership seeks to restore DC movies with a ten-year plan to compete with Marvel Studios

As you know, a lot is happening at Warner Bros. Discovery regarding their DC movies. Everyone was surprised by the news that their imminent Bad girl the film was shelved, but the new head of Warner Bros. Discovery David Zaslav has plans for DC.

THR reported that there is a ten-year plan that Zaslav hopes will allow the brand to actually compete with what Marvel Studios are doing. WB and DC have been trying to catch up with Marvel for years, but instead of taking their time and cultivating it, they rushed in to try and catch up, which didn’t quite work out.

Zaslav said: “We think we can build a much stronger and more sustainable growth business from DC. As part of that, we will focus on quality. We won’t release any movies before it’s ready … DC is something we can improve. “.

I absolutely agree with this. DC movies have always been something the studio could have done better with. Perhaps they will actually be able to make it under this new leadership. As you can imagine, all of these big changes are making other executives nervous and upset, including the president of DC Films Walter Hamada.

After finding out Bad girl was canceled, Hamada actually considered leaving WB! But he agreed to stay in his place at least until the release of Dwayne Johnson’S Black Adam. According to sources familiar with the situation, “He’s taking a break. The decision has not yet been made to do this contradictory “.

About Bad girl, an insider says Hamada “was shocked not to have been consulted and worried about the impact on the people involved in making the film.” The news came before the talent and their reps were informed of the decision.

After Black Adam is released, however, who knows what Hamada will do? One thing is certain, regardless of what happens, this new WB leadership will move forward with restoring DC film in hopes of releasing better films that can actually compete with what Marvel is doing.
