There is new information that has been confirmed Todd Phillips And Joaquin PhoenixThe Joker sequel, Joker: Folie for two.
We already know that the sequel will be a musical and Lady Gaga has officially confirmed that she has joined the film and will play Joker co-conspirator Harley Quinn. We also learned, thanks to The Wrap, that the film will be set primarily in Arkham Asylum and will focus on the time the Joker spent there.
In the original film, Arthur Fleck is admitted to Gotham City psychiatric hospital and not long before the credits begin, he appears to kill the doctor who was treating him before escaping and being chased by the guards. The insane character obviously does not escape.
Unsurprisingly, the story is set in the asylum. It should create a fascinating setting, especially with the fact that it will be a musical. I’m curious to see how exactly they will do it. But I guess it will tell a new version of the story of how Joker and Harley meet and fall in love with each other.
The working title of the film, Joker: Folie for tworefers to the clinical term for “shared insanity”, hallucinations and delusions of two people.
