Sony announced today that it will release the animated film from Alcon Entertainment garfield on February 16, 2024.
Chris Pratt voices the titular cat and Samuel L. Jackson plays a new character, Vic, who is Garfield’s father in the Mark Dindale-directed film. The screenplay was written by David Reynolds.
Alcon Entertainment acquired the rights from Jim Davis, the creator garfield comic series and brand, which will also be executive producer.
Producers are John Cohen, Steven P. Wegner, Andrew Kosowe, Broderick Johnson, Namit Malhotra and Tom Jacomb.
Bridget McMalley and Craig Sost are executive producers.
Alcon Entertainment is funding the animated film, while Sony Pictures will distribute it globally (excluding China).
The only other titles dated for February 16, 2024 are an untitled Marvel movie and an untitled Universal movie for the Valentine’s Day / Presidents holiday.
