We don’t really know anything about the movie, but we do know it will involve Mutant Mayhem! Rogen also spoke earlier about the film and what he and the creative team are trying to do with it. He also shared how it will be different from the other iterations we’ve seen. He explains that this new film will lean more towards a teenage coming-of-age story:
“As a lifelong Ninja Turtles fan, strangely the ‘Teenage’ part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has always been the part that struck me the most. And as someone who loves teen movies, and who has made a lot of teen movies, and who literally started his entire profession writing a teen movie, the idea of honing that element was really exciting for us. I mean, not neglecting the rest, but really using it as a kind of starting point for the film. “
Jeff Rowe (Gravity falls, connected) is set to direct the project while Brendan O’Brien (Neighbors: Sorority Rising) is writing the script.
Paramount has also confirmed this earlier Mutant chaos is released, there will be a series of villain-focused movies that will be released exclusively on Paramount +. I assume these will all tie into the film.
The film is scheduled for release on August 11, 2023.
