Christian BaleGorr The God Butcher was one of my favorite aspects of Marvel Thor: Love and thunder. He was a solid character and in the end I liked the look they used for the film. But there were several alternative designs created early in development and this design looks pretty crazy!
These designs come from concept artists Ken Barthelmey and they look much more monstrous. After seeing them, I understand why they were used as it would be difficult to get Gorr’s deep emotion from facial expressions. The artist said:
“Early Gorr the God Butcher project I made for Thor: Love and thunder to [Odd Studio], before Christian Bale was chosen. I loved Bales’ portrayal of the character ”.
