Asmodee recently announced a new board game from Unexpected Games called 3000 scoundrels. This competitive engine builder will see players create the best scoundrel possible to bluff to victory. It is set in an alternate Wild West that looks fun and uses clear cards to build your team so they can be better at stealing technology left behind by a mysterious man known as the Traveler. The game supports 2-4 players although I’m a bit skeptical of how well a 2-player game would work.

In 3000 Scoundrels, 2-4 players enter an alternate history of the Wild West and take on the role of rival leaders attempting to steal the precious technology left behind by a mysterious man known only as the Traveler. At the end of the game, the player with the most technology will determine the fate of the American frontier. Clear cards are used to create up to 3,000 rascals, each with a unique name, artwork, and skill. Up to 50 rascals are used in each game, ensuring that every game is different!

Players will have to recruit rascals who synergize with their strategy and use them to build an engine to ensure victory. Part of the strategy involves misdirecting opponents and choosing when to bluff. But if players are caught cheating, they are penalized. 3000 Scoundrels includes 60 clear work cards, 50 stretch cards, 4 leader sheets, 28 poker cards, 8 strategy cards, 1 game board and more.

3000 scoundrels was designed by an industry veteran Corey Konieczka who started in the field with Fantasy Flight Games and worked on great games like Battlestar Galactica: The board game, Star Wars: RebellionAnd Mansions of Madness: first edition. Speaking of the story behind it 3000 scoundrelsKonieczka said:

3000 Scoundrels was created out of my love of card games, engine building and bluffing. It started out as a deconstruction of what a “card” is in a game and tries to flip the genre. I really think this game will resonate with amateur gamers all over the world.

you can play 3000 scoundrels this fall when it launches in your local game stores.
