Faith Santilla was promoted to Executive Vice President of DGA, a position she previously held shortly before Stephen Knauss passed away in March at age 42.
In his new role, Santilla will work with vice-presidents and unit production managers in the western region, serving as staff liaison with the union’s West AD/UPM Council and reporting to Danny Bush, National Executive Director/CEO of the West.
“Since joining the DGA in 2015, Faith has helped grow our field agent operations to meet the unique needs of our members working across all categories,” said Russell Hollander, DGA National Executive Director. “In her new role as Executive Vice President, her deep union experience and expert workforce knowledge will now work on behalf of our AD and UPM members when she joins the DGA management team.”
Santilla joined DGA in 2015 as a field representative. He was promoted to Special Missions Manager in 2018 and then again Director of Field Operations in 2020, with his primary responsibility overseeing the Western Field Office Department.
Before joining the union, she began her career as a community organizer, establishing a center for migrant workers in Los Angeles’ historic Filipinotown neighborhood. He also worked as a union organizer in the Hotel and Restaurant Employees’ Union and the Publishers’ Union. He was a senior representative/organizer of Service Staff International Union Local 1000 and organizational development manager of SEIU-United Healthcare Workers West.
