After a successful run on Netflix, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’onofrio had to leave their characters for a few years, until their return in “Spiderman: No Way Home” and “Hawkeye”. Now, Matt Murdock and Kingpin are already part of the MCU and will return in the “Daredevil: Born Again” series for Disney +.
Prior to his new series, it was confirmed Charlie Cox will appear as the devil from Hell’s Kitchen in three Marvel productions, the first will be “She-Hulk” with his classic yellow dress, the second “Echo” and finally the animated series “Spiderman: Freshman Year”.
As if that weren’t enough, during the Marvel panel at Comic-Con, a new series called ‘Daredevil: Born again’, which will run for 18 episodes, will bring back Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’onofrio as Wilson Fisk and will function as a soft reboot of all three seasons on Netflix, with a release date in 2024.
The title of this New series from ‘Reckless’ refer to ‘Born again’ by Frank Millerthe acclaimed Marvel comic illustrated by David Mazzuchelli which is considered one of the stories that helped establish the world of the graphic novel as a serious medium and art at the same time.
Frank Miller, Daredevil and Marvel History
Already in the Netflix series, especially during the third season of ‘Daredevil’, there were references to the comic ‘Born Again’, with the whole theme of religion, and Karen Page returning to the world of drugs. However, it will be the new series for Disney + that finally seems to adapt this character arc.
The creator of the comic “Daredevil: Born Again” is Frank Miller, who, among other things, is also the mastermind behind “300” and “Batman: Return of the Knight”, other acclaimed comics. But well, in the story that concerns us, it tells the fall from grace of Matt Murdock, and the subsequent rise of him.
It all begins when Karen Page sells the secret of who Daredevil really is to the Kingping, which far from killing him the first time, gradually puts an end to the life of the lawyer, from his job to his role as a vigilante. This is how Matt Murdock ends up at the bottom of his existence.
